As Vice president and General Manager for SPT’s Digital Networks in Latin America, Jose Rivera-Font is responsible for the spearheading all of the company’s digital initiatives in the region, including AXN’s and Canal Sony’s VOD and TV Everywhere services and apps, as well as the programming, marketing, distribution, business development and product operations for Crackle, the company’s SVOD platform across those markets. Previously, Rivera-Font served as executive vice president of client and partner solutions at MGSCOMM. In this role, Rivera-Front drove the company’s growth strategy, successfully transforming the organization into a national business and one of the leading independent Hispanic-owned advertising communications companies in the US. In this role, he also expanded the capabilities of the Client Services team and diversified its product portfolio, which increased the company’s revenue and profit margins. Prior to that, Rivera-Font, was vice president and general manager for Yahoo! Hispanic Americas where he was responsible for overseeing Yahoo!’s regional efforts for the U.S. Hispanic market and the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. As head of the Yahoo! Hispanic Americas team, he was responsible for regional business strategy, product development, marketing and advertising services for the Yahoo! Network. Under Rivera-Font, the company expanded its branded content portfolio through a number of agreements with media entities such as The Wall Street Journal Hispanic, CNN en español and MOTOR TREND en español. He also was responsible for overseeing all marketing, sales and business development in support of the phased roll out of Yahoo’s Connected Life mobile services in the Americas region, which included the introduction of products such as “oneSearch” and “Yahoo! GO.” During his tenure, he set the vision and strategy for a streamlined Hispanic and Latin America product portfolio, and efficient sales and marketing operations in Latin America, helping Yahoo! build and maintain a leadership position in key categories including media, search, community and communications. Prior to joining Yahoo! in 2000, Rivera-Font was responsible for channel marketing at UDV, a unit of Diageo PLC. While there, he helped develop a marketing function which provided an understanding of the channel structure, market trends, consumer insights and purchasing dynamics. Rivera-Font worked at the Pepsi-Cola Co. for Aquafina, leveraging the Pepsi-Cola infrastructure and marketing know-how to help make Aquafina a leading brand in the company’s portfolio. There he was responsible for the development of national and pan-regional digital and traditional media sponsorship programs with Pepsi-Cola. Additionally, he held a number of marketing positions in Pepsi-Cola from 1995 to 1998. Born in Puerto Rico, Rivera-Font holds an MBA degree from Indiana University’s Kelley Business School and a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Boston College. He also served as the President of the I.U. Hispanic MBA Association at Indiana University.
